Scotter United install new defibrillator at Northmoor Park

Those of our older teams who train and/or play matches down at Northmoor Park may have noticed our friends at Scotter United have had a defibrillator installed on the front of the changing rooms.
It has been funded via the Premier League Defibrillator Fund and while we sincerely hope there is never any cause to use it, it could help save the life of someone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest.
We’d ask all those teams who use Northmoor to familiarise themselves with the machine – which is an automated external defibrillator (AED) – and the first steps to be taken in the event of an emergency.
Access to the cabinet comes via a code that will be provided by ambulance service staff when someone dials 999 and provides the location (the post code for which is featured on the front).
There are approximately 60,000 deaths from sudden cardiac arrests outside of hospitals in the UK each year, and someone experiencing a cardiac arrest without medical intervention is reported to have a less than one in 10 chance of survival.
With an AED and CPR the survival rate rises to an eight in 10 chance.
Thanks to the committee at Scotter United for sorting.
